Malossi Rear wheel axle

Beitragvon cc-racing » Mi Aug 12, 2009 10:27

Hallo there.

I have a XT500 1980 and I bought this swingarm on Ebay (the right one in the picture, the left one is the original).

It is 260 mm wide. The XT500 axle is too short. Do anyone have an idea which rear axle I can use for that swingarm ? I have looked at an axle for the XT 600 Ténéré, but I was told it is 320 mm long. Much too long. And I was further told it isn't possible to shorten it without destroying it.

I look forward to hear from you !

Dear Claus,

sorry, my English is not so very beautiful......

It's made of Chrommolybdän and sold in the 80' by Wunderlich, for example. It's one of the best swingarms for the XT.

Wait a little for more Informations, os ask our famous user "Mr. Polish".

Regards..........Steffen

Wow ! That looks very, very special !

Some kind of bushing so the chain adjuster has something to press on !

With the Schwinge I got some other chain adjusters. It looks like the original, but made wider and welded together with a metal piece in between...

Danke for the picture, Steffen.

Hi Claus,
here my solution without original malossi axle:

malossi 003.jpg
malossi 002.jpg
malossi 001.jpg
Its an axle of the XT600 Tenere ´84-´85, 31cm long.
On the left side i took a bush and on the right side i took the original Malossi nut.
On the right You can take also a second bush and an normal axle nut.
Schönen Gruß
Andreas :D

Hi Andreas.

Fantastic ! I think I try to find an axle for the XT600 Ténéré and then try to find some bushings somewhere and make it fit. Where did you get the bushing ?

Danke very much for the info and help ! :D
