These CDI ( Capacitor Discharge Ignition ) units are a direct plug in replacement for the original unit at a fraction of the cost. The CDI units are more efficient by making more use of the spark energy supplied from the stator and have a improved timing curve all of which results in a much improved performance over the full rev. range.
